I recall a Chinese restaurant near the City railway bridge which had an alcohol licence after closing time provided one ordered food. That was always well populated. The Traf club too (now the Trafalgar pub) for non alcoholic big eats before going back on board. You could book a small cabin there for around 2 shillings I reckon. Trouble was the Porter used to shake the whole floor with his first shake of the morning irrespective of what time it was
