    re: Hodgeson to keep job!

To be honest I think there should be a rule where you can't manage a national team unless you're that nationality. If we were to go for purely English managers, how many good English managers are out there who would take the job? Not many...

I agree, international football is tribal by nature, we should have an english manager no matter how **** he is in comparison.

Triz domestic football is tribal by nature.. Does that mean you have to be born in Derby to manage Derby?

No it isnt angry. International football is tribal as the english play for england, the people from england traveled to brazil to cheer on other englishmen. Its the best of your 'tribe' versus the best of their 'tribe',therefore i think the tribal chief (to labur the metaphor)should be english too imo. I think your misunderstanding how i meant 'tribal' mate as domestic footy is definitely not tribal in the sense i meant it,half derby's team is scottish for example.

Interesting how the same people are just thinking sacking is the answer without any thought to long termism. Just saying.

Will he move us forward? Honestly?
I started a thread previously, Clough v Hodgson.. Think I was spot on there.. Got the tools but does not know how to use them. We certainly have the players to do better than we have...
Hay oh we can waste another 2 years and be having the same debate again and again. Sometime you have to see what us right in front if

    I'd get rid.

we shouldn't be tolerating failure to this extent. we've made history by being the first England side in history to lose it's opening two group games. we've not been unlucky, we've deserved to go out. we've not even played the best team in the group yet!

    we've were awful in qualifying.

just what exactly has he achieved? scraping through a woeful qualifying group? it's **** poor.

We're a poor team in transition mate. If there was an englishman like mourinho or someone waiting in the wings id be all for it,(but even mourinho would fail with our players) but if we get rid it'll be 'arry or ****ing pardew or someone, and whoever we get in when they fail in 2016 (which they will as our team is a bit ****) you'll be calling for them to go (just like everyone called for capello, mcclaren, sven, keegan, taylor etc etc to be sacked), and then the same in 2018 and on and on and on. Lets think a bit more long term. Our results might be worse to begin with but it is our only hope with competing with the top nations.

incidently Robby Bobson lost all 3 of his games in euro '88.
