Why oh why Kerr wide right as sub. This tactic has failed over and over again. I feel sorry for him he is solely a defender. Recognise we have a small pool but he cannot play with back to goal.
We are not learning and repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

That is my greatest concern. Despite the fact that our defence was woeful last season we've done absolutely nothing to improve it. In fact its now even weaker. Oh and why do we play John Sutton on his own - thats failed ad nauseum in the past.

    Agreed.

How many co-efficient points did that last minute penalty cost us ???

Butchering yet another 2 goal lead

Our Cup results under SM are embarrassing, and unacceptable imho.

Taken me 24hours to get the dissappointment out of my system. The first 25 minutes showed exactly how the game was going to go we would have lots of the ball, make decent chances and they would hit us on the break . The midfield shape let us down last night. We needed two sitting midfielders or at least one but too many times our whole midfield were caught far too high up the pitch. Their number 10 was constantly picking the ball up in the hole left between the centre halves and the midfield. Neither mcManus or Ramsden want to come into the hole because they wouldn't have the pace to recover if they made a mistake. Therefore Carswell or Lasley or bother had to sit and accept that was there job and the furthest forward they should go was the half way line. Still think we have a good chance to go through to the next round but we must play 4-4-2 . I would go with a back four of Kerr Ramsden McManus Hammell, midfield of law Lasley Reid Ainsworth. And a front two of Sutton and Erwin.

Why did we keep pressing up field and leaving ourselves open to the counter when we were 2 up? We should have sat in and kept it tight. We'll never learn. we make the same mistakes time and again. We play into the opposing team's hand every time. Iv'e no doubt we can score over there but iv'e also no doubt we could concede a couple also.

Pretty much my thinking. Maybe swap Ramsden and Kerr. 4-4-2 is our best maybe only set up and we should have played that formation last night. No room for Law and Vigurs in the same midfield.

Sorry, Law and Vigurs were the biggest creative output from the team. Both must start.

Agreed thought both played well but Law just ran out of steam in the 2nd half quicker than the DC Stand ran out of pies at half time. Also thought Carswell but in a good performance particularly in the 2nd half. Remain optimistic about the return game.

If both Vigurs and Law play then we have to start with a single striker. It will also make us more vulnerable to breakaways. Firepower too will be compromised. You pays your money you takes your choice.

Stuart Carswell had a mixed game on Thursday evening. In the first half he was guilty of being caught on the ball a few times and his distribution was poor. He had a better second half and came onto a game in the last half an hour or so.
