Great so what are the attacking options we have now if these two go, i know his goal scoring return has been poor recently but i like cox he would not be first choice but at least he is an option to come off the bench. Are we really going to play one up front all season because if we do play two up sometimes what options do we have... oh yes none and as far as holt is concerned that boat sailed years ago

    Quick question:

Why the fire sale now. Everyone's known FFP was coming.

Nothing to do with cash flow is it, or recently paid tax bills?

**** or bust for two years, then cutting the cloth using FFP as an excuse, getting a manager in that nobody will go against...

Sounds a bit like Derby 5 years a go. You've got such a long way to come.

Not sure I would describe it as a 'fire sale', we are selling some players and buying others.

From what I hear we are trying to sign a winger and a striker, so it makes sense to sell at the same time (from what I hear incoming will cost more than the outgoing).

We have sold Lascelles (and loaned him back) and signed Mancienne, Laing and Rierra, not sure that weakened the defence.

We will need to replace our keeper in the next year.

£7m for Darlow and Lascelles is on the low side but ultimately doesn't impact the football team this season.

You may be right Dave. Who knows?
Fawaz has been an **** with money for ages.
You know what? I think he's been reeled in by the family. I seriously don't think he is running the finance show anymore. He was in Kuwait for ages. It would not surprise me, if someone senior to him has slapped a finance team on us and taken his cheque book off him. It might not be a bad thing either. He is useless spending wisely. I don't think he even knew how to spell FFP, never mind understand it?

I would. FFP accounts period has passed hasn't it - for this year?. I think FFP is a smoke-screen. Otherwise you would have tried to meet it earlier/on time.

Then there is the tax issue. Cash flow problems...

Problem is, what happens next year? You have two players to replace and nobody of value to sell to get in further tightened regulations.

'Tis a fire sale in my opinion.
