I have to say that Sabdells rolling episode in the dying minutes should have been rewarded with a red card. Not sure which law that would come under apart from simulation and or unsporting behaviour and or piss taking

    re: Todays Referee……..

Gary Sutton of Lincs has been on the football league since 2005/6 so in no way can it be said that he is inexperienced. Wycombe it was reported in several papers on Wednesday had time wasted in the 2nd half at Plymouth Tuesday night when winning 1.0. It was no surprise to me therefore that Macca and then Awfs early on were upset when they were at it again even with the score 0.0. The referee, who must have known what happened at Plymouth, never got to grips with it imho and how their goalie was never yellow carded is beyond me. Having gone behind I thought it was curtains but we then had 2 really good chances before Johnny Ertl got the deserved equaliser. Did anyone see how Hollands was blatantly taken out off the ball in the 2nd half ? something else which was conveniently missed. Nevertheless it was a cracking game but I would hate to be associated with such blatant time wasting.

I think I was more concerned at Wycombe's antics. I can't remember a team time wasting taking their time and generally pissing around. He should have been on to their Captain a lot quicker. Clearly a tactic to break up play and slow game which is a shame cause the can play when they want to.

I have to agree with that. We started brightly, they tried to disrupt our flow that is what upset Macca and then Awfs. Middle of the first half they were edging it and of course then they were more than happy to get on with it. After their goal we saw the majority of their antics. Shame we didn't take one of the 2 chances which we put over plus the Dunny strike which hit the bar. They should have made it 2.0 also and if that had happened it would have been curtains. I shall watch closely what happens in the coming weeks with them, Refs talk among themselves trust me and no doubt the FL referees supremo talks to them regularly before games.

LDB I picked up on a comment made by an Argyle fan in the week saying he didn't like how they played the game and I have to agree. Their larking about even got their fans going resulting in one being thrown out for not returning the ball. Not seen that before.

Tks WB, I read quite a bit this week on the goings on at Home Park Tuesday so I was expecting something but not as bad as it was yesterday. Was it Norwich many years ago (it seems so) we were leading deep into the 2nd half ? One of ours in the SSL leant over the boards and threw the ball away when a City player was about to collect it for a throw in. The ref quite rightly added time on (not so much was the norm in those days) and City equalised in that time.

Yes, LDB, it was Norwich and IIRC the Referee was Steve Bennett.
Two 2 mins first half and 6 mins second half yesterday seemed a reasonable add-on, though sadly not enough for us to score. I thought the Referee did miss a trick not giving Hayes a second yellow when he continued to go slowly after he had been cautioned - then they wouldn't have been able to bring on their sub. Perhaps a bit too controversial

I agree geoffp. The timewasting started incredibly early with their keeper taking an age over goal kicks. As Jim said in his report Wycombe could've won yesterday if they'd gone for it.
Its easy to slate the refs when you're not getting the results you hope for, but some of the refs we've had so far this season have been dreadful. Did anyone spot Danny Hollands get taken out completely off the ball & all 3 of the officials inexplicably missed it. @ times its bordering on incompetent.

Exactly as I posted yesterday re Hollands. Their midfielder just took him out no messing.

You will know this LoveDean. Is there something in the marking system of refs where they are marked down if considered to be homers? If so would that explain the inexplicable. Why every game I see the ref seems to be favouring the away team.
