I doubt if any of us had even heard of him before the WC, never mind seen him and yet here we are, not even in September, and some people seem to have found a new potential hate figure to fill the void while Nolan's out of the side.

Which, imo, has nothing to do with not wanting people to post an opinion.

Be lucky. Chill out and have a quick beer. And while you're at it check your stats. I'd guess Poyet has played almost as much, if not more, than Valencia.

Whisky, I think it's you that has been on the beer mate.

It has got nowhere near hatred, just observations.

He played and scored against England prior to the world cup so I've seen him play 5 times as have most people. I've seen Poyet play once

With some on here the very fact that he was bought by Allardyce & the Daves means they want him to fail so they can continue moaning about A&tD's.

All in all it's just another brick in the wall.

The price tag has an influence on peoples perspective of a player. I have seen Valencia play 3 times for us now and on no occasion did i see £12 mil worth, and as people have pointed out we paid less for Zarate and on first impressions i would say Zarate looks better value for £12 mil.

But its early days and a new enviroment ( one in which Zarate has tasted previously, ) so i will leave total judgement for a later date. But i have a sneaky feeling that he is playing out of his depth, but i could, as is often the case, be wrong.

That's a very good point but that amount of money was also enough to purchase Bony, Benteke or Coutinho so it depends how you spend it.

Let's just hope he turns out well in the long run because Allardyce previous £10m+ transfers have not been great value imo.[/quote]

Another good comparison but they could have easily failed as they did hit they ground running. Strikers and promoted teams are known to have 'second season syndrome', as daft as it sounds it does seem to exist, so we'll see how bony does. Benteke was injured last season to judge his second season and coutinho is overrated IMO

I agree, the price certainly makes a difference to me. Adrian can make the odd error here or there because he was free but I would expect Velcro hands if he had cost £12m.

First impressions, are often the best.

I like to think, I have seen a fair few players over the years, kids as well, who you can instantly say, that they have something about them.

For me, Valencia looks ordinary, certainly no better than we have and certainly, at the moment for me, no better than Maiga

Hope I'm wrong, and he smashes in the goals, but I think Sakho will have a bigger impact
