    re: Mayweather v Maidane Part 2 - 13th Sept 2014

I was going to watch it tonight, mate. Heard he looked top notch though. Quigg fights this weekend in what should be an easy win. Frampton has to fight Chris Avalos who I saw lose to Chris Martin (from San Diego) a couple of years back. He should beat him.

If they can get the venue sorted Quigg Frampton could happen next spring but McGuigan doesn't get on too well with Eddie Hearn.

I don't think Rigo will be happening anytime soon. Too much risk for too little reward.

The UK Super Bantam division is looking healthy at the moment. Kid Galahad fights later this month & there's a few decent prospects coming up as well. Michael Maguire was once described by Adam Booth as the most talented fighter he'd worked with but he enjoys a night out a bit too much. Khalid Yafai's younger brother Gamal is meant to be a massive puncher & prospect too.

Mayweather looks in the best shape a 37 year old on PEDs could possibly look.

Maidana has a cracking set of love handles

I thought he was training for a hi energy performance. Looks more like he's going all out for the first few rounds. Could be fireworks early on. - view external link

Golovkin is not about to move up to 168. He has a tough defence next month against Rubio.

However for him to fight Floyd he'd have to weigh in at something like 154 pounds. When Mayweather fought Canelo he made him weigh 152 thereby weakening him down the stretch.

And Golovkin won't do that. There is talk of him fighting Ward but Ward is currently in a (losing) legal battle with his promoter and there are no plans for him to fight soon. He's only fought TWICE since beating Froch back in 2011.

Floyd has a tough test right here in Florida by the of Keith Thurman. He's 25 and holds an alphabet belt. Has a record of 23(21)-0 and has decent boxing skills but just loves a tear up. But the risk/reward factor is not big enough for Mayweather.

Nine of Mayweathers last 11 fights have been against Hispanic fighters. And nine of those bouts have been on Hispanic 'holiday' weekends May 5th* & September 16th. He knows the formula that works & sticks to it.

*May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) is not

Mayweather wears a new pair of trainers every day and only ever wears them once. Thats enough to want the opponent to smash his face to bits!
