Ahh give him a bit of a break, he is a young lad trying to win over a hostile bunch of fans.

Not saying what he said is right in anyway but they are hardly the most welcoming bunch are they?!

Not quite the whole story here, I think.

Last summer I met a relative of this lad at a funeral. First thing to say is that, as several have remarked here, the kid has to say something to appease his new supporters. Reporter probably makes half of it up, and especially the bit about all the kid's family suddenly becoming pikey supporters; I talked to the bloke's relative for ages about all this, and I very much doubt that he was for turning, for a start.

More worrying though, was how the kid thought the youth set-up at West Ham was really working. At the time he had gone to the Plastics en route for the caravan-dwellers, and he told his uncle that he had learnt more in his first three months at Chelski, than he had in the five or six years he'd been at our place. Sadly, that doesn't surprise me; with a manager who doesn't even bother to watch the kids play - ever as far as I hear - and masterminds some of the worst football we've ever seen, what would you expect?

    I have several mate

Oh they do. Believe me they do.

Unfortunately ability, or more accurately, lack of, tends to win in the end and crushes those dreams.[/quote]

Fu(k me that's started my day off with a smile and a skip in my step.

I was referring to my own attempts in my younger days to break into the ranks of professional football. Sadly my enthusiasm was not matched by my ability.

The giddy heights of the football combination proved to be the zenith of my illustrious career.

Football doesn't realise just what it missed.

I used to play what used to be called Inside Right.

Which for important games, was where I was left

    I coulda been a contender...
