To complete the rout...
Honours
PFC league x2, FA Cup x2, Charity Shield x 1 total=5 last major honour 2008
SFC FA Cup x1 total = 1. Last major honour 1976.
JPT is not recorded in the statistics books as its not really worthy of note.
Official figures say 44,000 Saints fans rolled up for the JPT final, unofficial figures put that number at over 50,000..Originally Posted by PapaLazarou

ok... page 88 PFC history 1898-1998 'Pompey faced Newport County in round 5 of the FA Cup in February 1949 and won 3-2 after extra time at Fratton Park before over 48,000 (including 5,000 from Wales).
Scum lost 2-1 to Sheffield Wed in the 3rd round, Pompey lost in the Semi finals to Leicester 3-1 at Highbury in front of 62,000. So even then it was bigger Pompey![]()

Portsmouth have been watched by nearly half a million people at the New Wembley and probably over a billion on telly.
Southampton have been watched by about 60k at New Wembley and about 2 men and a dog on telly!!
What page in this glorious book of history does it mention insolvencies, charity theft and bankrupting local businesses? Please complete "the rout" by furnishing us with this information. After all, if one is going to discuss history, it's only right to be consistent.

Some clubs have enough glory in their past to fill up a history book. Others might need to mention things like Paintpots and getting promotion by only coming 2nd.

There was also a letter to the Pompey Captain Flewin Parker in support of the 1948 campaign ... " I have myself been the captain of many teams, great armies in the field are teams like yours, only somewhat bigger. My last team was 2 million men! So i know how much depends on the captain, his influence has got to hold the team together. This is especially the case in adverse conditions and when things are not going too well'
yours sincerely

What on earth has this got to do with an attendance table?![]()
The only thing your "glory" is likely to fill is your sock. Your list of shame is way longer and stands taller.Originally Posted by chiswickmart
