If you had ever visited Cardiff Castell, you would know that it is built on what the Welsh are pleased to call a tump (please feel free to correct me)

The scene was difficult to photograph because of the distance involved - in the end I used a tripod

Now now Lassie ,even I know that tripods cannot take photos

HMS Duncan is down there too Lassie. The drunken Duncan her predecessor was known in my time

    Spot on, LDB!
Pride of the navy - flying the flag.
Seen here with the Millenium Centre and the National Assembly in the background.

I'm seriously thinking of popping down the Bay on Sunday 'cos you can be taken over the ship - just like Navy Days at Pompey.
But 'Pride and Prejudice' is on Dave.

Worth a look as long as you don't miss Pompey live on Sky. I had a walk around of her sister ship HMS Defender. The Operations Room, Technology, Weapons systems, living accommodation (mess decks to you) and the Sick Bay for instance bare no comparison to the old rusty Destroyer I first went to sea on.

A Media extract... Thousands of people were in Cardiff Bay for the military open day after the NATO summit. One of the Royal Navy's most advanced warships ever, Type 45 Destroyer HMS Duncan, and naval ships from five other NATO member states were open to the public. RAF replica aeroplanes were on display, while Army tanks and other vehicles available for visitors to try out. Lassie hope you went. it's about all we have left
