re: QPR could be in trouble

I remember the Sheffield United/West Ham/Tevez situation a few years back.

West Ham were found to have fielded illegal players for a long time and should have been docked points, but instead were fined 10 million pound and were to give Sheff United compensation.

This basically proved they had done wrong, but because they were a big London club, they weren't relegated, awful.

Luton did something similar but were hit with a 30 point deduction.

Don't hold your breath with QPR.

    Here's my perspective...

I get falshed by a speed camera doing 75 mph at night on a motorway with no traffic, I get 3 pts and £60 fine. Is that just for the offence. Probably not, but the rule is the rule. I was aware of it, and should have known better

QPR - were they aware of FFP rules applying to both Prem and Championship? Yes. Did they flaunt them? Yes

You cant say they couldnt have avoided the loss, as they signed Austen, Dunne etc resulting in transfer fees, agency fees, wages etc all contributing to the loss last year

And here's the clincher for me...can they afford to pay the fine? To ****ing right they can! They will get £100m TV windfall for this season. All they need to do is budget £40m of that accordingly to their fine, rather than continue to over pay on wages and transfers.

    there you go, problem solved!!!!

The problem is that the Premiership do not recognise the rule so in their eyes they have nothing to do with it. Its basically the FA vs QPR. Surely the football league hold their playing registration, so the FA should just with-hold the registration until the fine is paid, making them ineligible to play any football at all until the fine is paid, even in the Premiership.

A transfer embargo is no good either, they can fill their squad before they get relegated.

Its a mess, QPR will go to court and possibly win their case, leaving the FFP rules and punishments worthless in the future.

I read that QPR's wage bill is currently higher than AC Milans and (I think) the 5th highest in Europe. It is unsustainable. I hope they go bust, they believe they are a big club when they never have been and never will be.
