I question the morality of an establishment in cahoots with big business influencing democracy with a big stick, rather than the democratic process itself, personally.

It would leave a country that had what 51% of the population wanted.

Or maybe you think it would be morally wrong to give 51% of the population what they want [/quote]

It's not that 51% want chips on Friday night instead of pasta FFS.

Maybe this should be the question:

Do you want to have to exchange currency every time you have to go to England?

I am having gut wrenching feelings of rue entering into a conversation with someone who cannot see how dumb it is saying that if more than half vote for something they should not have it because it wasnt what the less than half wanted. I mean no offence tat is just incredibly dumb. Och Im such an agreessive Yes voter

I think no will win. Most people are scared of what might happen. Now if I say most people are scared you say ahh scare****ering, and I say 40 years of lies and scare****ering, you say ahhh but every finance person says independence is bad, ahhhh thats a total lie and on and on it goes. Hard to understand why voters on both sides cant accept the other sides position and argue their points without trying to ram their opinion down each others' throats. You are to NO what stewarty is to yes - and you are by far the most concerned/excitable/obsessed non Scot I have come across anywhere on the whole debate.

So I was talking to a friend recently, an undecided voter with concerns surrounding bias and propaganda in the Independence debate. I understand that it can be hard to know what to believe so I've scoured the internet, for your pleasure of course, and collected some interesting articles from our recent past. Mostly written during our previous constitutional debate in 1997 surrounding the creation of the Scottish Parliament, they illustrate the lengths some will go to frighten you.

In 1997 they warned us that voting Yes for a Scottish parliament would cost us more...

In 1997 they warned us that voting Yes for a Scottish Parliament would harm businesses...

In 1997 they warned us that devolution would impoverish Scotland. One prominent Tory likened a Yes vote to a Scottish Parliament to a 'jobs holocaust...'

In 1997 they warned us that Scotland with its own parliament would become a 'high-tax ghetto...'

In 1997 we were warned of the 'frightening financial consequences of devolutio
