    The engines were an engineering work of art - gleaming brass pipes as was the design details in the little drinking snugs below decks. Beautifully etched windows and carved mahogany. Remember the boat? ship? floated with a permanent list.

    Just witnessed from Scully Towers,a paddle steamer with 2 red chimneys going out of the harbour.
    Will attempt to get a photo if it returns.

    It'll be the Waverley which sails down from Scotland for Solent and Dorset coast day cruises at this time of the year.
