    re: 10 Favourite songs

Anyway, new stuff I listen to is mainly folk music to be honest, the likes of Unthanks, Sam Kelly and that sort of thing. As far as one off ofs are concerned, more '70s and 80s stuff:

    Bauhaus - Dark Entries
    Killing Joke - Requiem
    Spear of Destiny - Liberator
Theatre of Hate - Westworld (they are different bands)
    New Model Army - Vengeance
    The Cult - Go West
    Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop
Buzzcocks - What Do I Get
    Adverts - Gary Gilmore's Eyes
    Feelgoods - Roxette

Also the Adicts Chinese Takeaway deserves an mention 'cos they're geet mental. I ofn't any Undertones (Get Over You), or SLF (Gotta Gettaway), or Joy Division (Transmission, She's Lost Control). Must mention Whole Wide World (Hit and Miss Judy as well) by Wreckless Eric, geet ace funny song, which I often listen to as well. There are loads more, to be honest, I could gan on about Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Muddy Waters, B B Kng, Seasick Steve and loads more, some actually still alive even.

    Definitely nowt by the P

Turned everything on it's heed chalky, that one song. There had been an UK movement for years, with the pub rock bands (Dr Feelgood, The Hot Rods etc) and an underground scene, but that's where it all was, underground. This single made it mainstream, it highlighted the fact that youse didert of to stand on one leg and play an flute to make music. Also disco were purely for bints and homlords, so this song got proper blokes into music.

It had been coming, there were some backlashes against the establishe
