Old Bluek makes me laugh and thinks that Celtic and the rest of Scottish Fitba rely oan Rangers...about 30k at Paradise tonight which will be one the best Europa League attendances of the evening.

Watch oot yer club don't get liquidated Bluek now that would be "alarming"!!!

On chances, a draw would have been a fair result but Celtic's goal was worth winning any match.

Not a great crowd though, top tier was shut.[/quote]

Aye Celtic rode their luck a wee bit in the 2nd half and Gordon made a couple of good saves...cracking move for the goal by Commons and a good match.

Tonight wasn't Celtic's "biggest game of the season" Bluek and a decent enough crowd created a right good atmosphere...no bad for a team in transition and not playing great fitba.

I agree Bluek and that's the case for a lot of clubs in Scotland, England and Europe...just close a section down for some games and try and make fitba cheaper for the fan.

30,000 for a european game v average opposition and not in the top tourny is about the default setting for celtic historically.

we got 32,000 v ghent of belgium in 1984 in the cup winners cup.

we got 37,000 v boavista in 1975 in the cup winners cup.

39,000 v sporting lisbon in 1983 in the uefa and 31,000 10 years later in same comp against same opps.

23,000 v arhuss denmark in 1983 in the uefa.

28,000 v polytechnica timasoara of romania in the 1980 cup winners cup.

30,000 v wacker innsbruck in the euro cup in 1977.

30,000 v veijle of denmark in 1973 in the euro cup.

40,000 v olympiakos in the euro cup in 1974.

30,000 v wislaw krakow in the uefa in 1976.

just cos we dont get nearly 60k every home game now isnt a sign of disaster, its a sign of the reality we are all hit with, the days of celtic getting 60k most home games are over bar the odd massive game or two.

Football in the area of Britain known as Scotland is overpriced and there is little competition. Even when The Rangers are in the top league, the competition is still a bore to the majority of fans.

A couple of things would help this:

1 - TV money should be shared equally. The OF already have a massive financial advantage before a ball is kicked. Competition would improve.

2 - Prices should be reduced to German levels to get people back into the grounds before it's too late. Too many people have been lost to the game already because it's too dear.

Unfortunately, neither of these two things will happen because of the greed of those running the OF clubs and it is they who dictate what happens up here.

They're not in it for the benefit of Scottish football or even their own clubs. They're in it to make money for themselves.

If you don't think that's true, look at Ally McCoist. Everyone knows, including himself, that the best thing for him to do for The Rangers is to resign but he wo
