    re: on reflection

    The reason I support Saints is because that's where I'm from Simon, whether they have/had won anything is irrelevant.

    Are you suggesting the reason why you support Pompey is because they've won trophies? If you are then that makes you the worst kind of fan. If you're not then it makes your 'argument' a moot point.

    Either way, it's just confirmed what a bellend you are to be pondering such a ridiculous thing at 2am.

    By your dim witted reasoning my Rochdale supporting friends must be pretty stupid. Whereas I reckon they're some of the best fans in the country.

    You should take a long, hard look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if your time on here could be more usefully employed elsewhere.

    He'll be 38 and probably retiring from football altogether next summer. Yet, they still seem to think his Southampton class is somehow going to rub off on them.
    Somehow you seem to have forgotten the fact that your ONLY major trophy came courtesy of a Pompey boy.

    Well imagine that you decided to swap the train for a car. You have 2 choices;

    1. A premium product with quality fittings and years of happy motoring ahead.

    or

    2. A clapped out old wreck with a bit of history

    I bet you chose 2.

    And as Portsmouth born lad, growing up in the Seventies there was only one team in Hampshire that wasn't dogged with the stigma of hooliganism.

    Let's face it, it would still be a dream for any young, aspiring footballer from Portsmouth to play for a top club like Southampton.

    Frankly, if a Southampton lad scored the winning goal for Pompey in a cup final, I'd be ashamed of him. Pompey fans seem to see it as a matter of some pride what a Pompey boy achieved with Southampton. I guess Hartlepool fans would feel the same if a local lad scored for Newcastle at Wembley.
