If you actually look at the statistics closely you will find there's a mixed bag across the board.
Aberdeen and United especially have done well crowds-wise in the absence of Rangers. For United, their big game had always been Dundee, not Rangers.
What most people forget is that gone are the days when the home support will turn out to see Celtic/Rangers visit. It just doesn't happen.
So aye, you might have 4,000 'Bears' there, but there's probably 1k fewer in the home end, partly because it'll be a 12.30 game on a Sunday and on the TV and partly because folk don't care about those games any more.
The clubs that have missed Rangers most are those based near Glasgow who would give up half their ground to them - Killie and Motherwell. Everyone else is doing ok.

The majority of those teams survived for over 100 years without Rangers in their league. And they only make serious cash if the games v Rangers are live on TV. If not the extra policing & stewarding costs cancel out any money that extra tickets bring in.Originally Posted by bluek

All the clubs have benefited from playing Rangers - serious cash or not.
I hope the new Rangers fc stay down, they have **** poor crowds compared to the original Rangers. I do wish them well in their semi final though as would enjoy watching United (or the SSB's) tear them to shreds in a cup final even more than I enjoyed raith rovers doing it last season![]()

He reminds of Claude the H1b5 fan who used to post on here. If you wanted to know what was happening at Tynecastle you only had to ask Claude. He was a Hearts expert.![]()
