I'm not sure we have played like we know we can for long enough in the first half. It's not beyond us at this point though. COYS.

With Villa using tactics a la last season, im surprised that they've got away with it again.
But playing as an away side at home with no obvious ability to change their game, the game is still there for us to win.
If i was a Villa supporter i would want my money back, absolute shi te to watch, and their luck will run out.

We need to move the ball quicker. Too much tippy tappy. We really should win this but they need a firework up the backside.

We will lose this 0-2. The whole atmosphere and everything is all wrong, Saints are half @rsed and wasteful. I hate Monday night football.

Phew! All donations gratefully received. That was like drawing teeth. I thought we were poor tonight and couldn't see us scoring. One bit of quality got us a point. Fair play to Villa they did a job on us (nearly) again.

Wow that was painful to watch, not the same Saints we've got used to watching. By far our worst performance of the season, but at least we didn't lose.

Still second, bring on Man City!

A poor game of football from whichever perspective you look at it.

Given Villa's defensive problems they did well, although I'd struggle to say anyone in a Saints shirt had their best game.

We're now 14 points from safety so time to focus on Sunday which should be a much more entertaining game.

That game shows how you need balance in the team.

With Davis out, Morgan and Wanyama had no one coming short, linking them to the attack, with countless, pointless long balls out to the wings.

Yes Forster messed up, but so did Ron with the team selection. We improved slightly 2nd half when Tadic moved inside, we effectively then went 3 across the front, creating more space for Bertrand and Clyne to get forward.

Good point for us when in the past we would never have scored.
Villa played with the whole team behind the ball, and basically said "break us down if you can" well we did, and deservedly so.

Too many passes went astray, but the desire was there for all to see.
Motm for me was Shane Long, he never stopped running, and caused problems.
Not sure what Foster was thinking with the goal and set us on the back foot.

City next so should be better with both teams wanting to play football.
