Just says he's dismissed the link. That's what all managers do. There is no I'm not interested or not going in there at all if you read the content.

So if he did go does that make a mockery of Rushs claims when he came about someone who has the tradition of the club at heart???

Don't get excited. This is just their interpretation of his post match interview of which most people's view, including the BBC, was that he was very none committal and definitely didn't rule himself out. He's had ample opportunity to say he's not interested and is clearly considering it or at best just keeping his options open.

...Steve McClaren insists that he is not interested in taking charge of Newcastle United and is fully focused on Derby County.

Rattea, I don't want to be rude but what do you actually care what McClaren does, its clear your not keen on him and would much prefer Nigel back, my guess is you want him to leave so he can't prove you wrong

Stenson on balance I don't think he has improved the club or delivered on the provisos he was apparently brought in to do. His signings have been nothing short of poor or not that good to date.

If he leaves then shows his true colours tbh.

If a manager is not taking a club forward regardless of who they are should they be retained?

Comparing burley to McClaren when they left there is no comparison for example.

Southern being a poster and a mod his not interconnection if you look it up.

If you read the article the writer is speculating at the statement from McClaren. If you actually read it the quote is anything but the headline statement.

And I couldn't give a flying monkey if you like what I post or not I'm not about to jump on the happy pr fed wagon those who can't think for the

    re: McClaren

    This is how it goes.

He can't say he isn't interested in the Newcastle job in case circumstances dictate that it becomes his best option. So for example, if Newcastle were to approach Derby and Derby gave permission to speak to McClaren, presumably with an agreeable compensation figure, then it would be in McClarens best interests to at least look at it.

Therefore it is difficult for him to say he wouldn't be interested without knowing what the circumstances might be.

So what he said was that he is fully committed to doing the job here, anything else is speculation. His wording suggested that he had no intention of jumping ship, however he has been around the block within the politics of football to know that nothing is cast in stone.

But people want managers to come out and say something that it is, in reality, quite hard for them to say because circumstances can change very quickly.

I listened to his interview post match, I wasn't in the least bit concerned he was thinking of go
