The story in the Sun has Kerr coming over well.
There are always 2 sides to every story yet to hear J.T side yet.

If we'd lost 3-1 on Saturday I could understand the back-biting!

You should read the QOS thread on the P&B site Jardi . Makes interesting reading

If you look at our Current squad, the vast majority played under Allan Johnston when he managed QOS and turned the likes of Reilly, Holt & Durnan into Men.

I don't think Allan Johnston got enough credit for turning these players into decent, top quality footballers

My point is I think we are doing so well just now because of our previous achievements ! We have a team filled with very good footballers who want to prove themselves to bigger clubs rather than the current management teams influence and knowledge

"So "The SUN" has Kerr coming over well", with no mention of trying to contact QOS for a rebuttal, kind of the same for the other papers I saw, so some are willing to believe Mr Kerr's take on the unfounded (as yet)occurence and have decided that JT is involved.

Whatever my views on JT's abilities in his various roles (and they are mostly positive)I know from personal contact personal/supporter/Trust that no-one could question the man's feeling for the Club and that he would only ever act in the best interests of Queen Of The South FC. Those who have recently departed I know not personally however this hasty leaving "by mutual consent" does not fill me with confidence in their part of ending their contracts.

Have to agree with Topfitter here.

There are of course two sides to every story but if I was a betting man, I'd guess that Mark Kerr had an opportunity to return to Falkirk that he couldn't refuse. I also reckon that he thought he'd chance his arm at Palmy to see if he couldn't get a lift financially or a higher (possibly managerial) post. When neither came his way, some words were exchanged and Mark Kerr allowed the red mist to descend. Since he wasn't simply dealing with a referee he had no option but to take the equivalent of a red card and move to pastures new.

Sadly, he is now part of the Falkirk set up, our only real challengers for the play-off spot.

Let's hope that JT and the rest of the lads can outwit him when it comes to matches against them.

Hear, hear, I would rather give the benefit of doubt to a man who has done so much for QoS than a fly by night journeyman on something like his eighth club. I hope the majority have the same view

as queens fans i feel we should be more concerend about supporting the players and staff who are at the club not those who have moved on to pastures new.we now have squad places to fill and that should be more of a talking point.no one apart from those who are involved with the club no exactly what has happened involving these 2 players so we should leave it at that.i hope we attract a couple of decent replacements to take their positions i however would not be happy if they brought in young boys on loan from other clubs as i feel at this time of the season we require a couple of guys who have experienced the heat of a promotion battle who can pass on their experience to the young lads currently at the club.mon the south

Queens are doing very well this season & if players want to leave then why should be stand in their way .

I , like many others have heard rumours why but unless the club comes out and tells us then we'll just have to forget about it .

Have to say though that the two club statements about their releases were very amateurish .

I can't offer any insight but there seems to be a lot of people being led by rumours and Mark Kerr's paper story.Players fall out with managers and Mark Kerr is not exactly a one club man.He played well for the club but we will continue without him.Baird is a different story.I don't think he ever fitted in the team.He looked pretty sharp pre-season and was unlucky with his injury but he has simply not reached the standards of Reilly and Lyle. His leaving surely times with the transfer window. He joins a long list of players who have played better against us than with us and i a sure we will face him again.I do agree with Arrol the club should be the bigger in the story and wish these players the best when leaving.

Reading the comments by Mark Kerr in various newspapers he hasn't got the guts to the person he had words with, simply saying he thought that person "was not a football person". If the badly kept secret that Jim Thomson is that person then Mark Kerr didn't know that much about the Club he was playing for. I'm sure JT will have had played professional football for over 20 years, although probably not with as many clubs as Mark Kerr has gone through. He captained Queens to a Scottish Cup Final, scoring one of the goals and also captained the team in a European Competition. Since hanging up his boots he has done Community Coaching, is involved with the Development Team and in such capacities I'm sure he holds SFA Coaching Certificates. If that is not a "football person" then I don't know what Mark Kerr recognises as such. I don't think Jim Thomson was too fussed about carrying on the Assistant Managers job for so long but he probably has because the Club asked him to.
    Is he doing a g
