Without wishing to go against my 'own camp', for me its obvious why JR is still with us i.e. IMO no one is going to stump up the aspirational cash being dreamt up by Venkys.
Despite JR's admirable endeavours he has glaring deficiencies in his game.
You can sure as hell bet that any aspirational suitor arbours major doubts upon him making the step up and producing anything like the same goal tally.
Its his physical presence and his lack of pace/sharpness that holds him back.

Remind me again how many Premier league goals Rhodes has scored.[/quote]

As many as the amount of times you've managed to avoid being relegated from the Prem.

Once he gets his chance he will score, as he is no better or worse than Ings, Austin etc.

Ladies and gentlemen and those who are not quite sure.Should you fail to be promoted this year you will not be able to afford to keep Rhodes if you are going to attempt to have the embargo lifted.
Your parachute payments have allegedly been borrowed against before next season even starts, given your matchday income somewhere around 8/10 million.
Rhodes wages alone will swallow up some 25%of your budget.
    All the best

Hence my rating of 'admirable', this related to his chance to conversion ratio (at this level).
Yes, given the 'opportunity' he could possibly maintain a reasonable goal tally.
But at Prem level with smarter and tighter controlled defences my instinct tells me that these opportunities would be hugely reduced.
Of course there is only one way that this can be proven/disproved, so we will have to wait and see.
    My view is that J

Is all this collosal resentment about Jordan Rhodes by Burnley supporters because Danny Ings will go on a free at the end of the season(whether they stay up or not)??
O that he scored the equalising goal at Turf Moor last season??

The club cant afford not to sell.

When you consider the match receipts for the Swansea game split three ways Rovers share would not even pay Rhodes wage.
With the club losing over £700,000 per week according to the balance sheet something has got to give.

I dont believe that the normal 12/13k from home games will pay his wages. The multi millionaires who run and own the club can though, and thats how football works.

Dead right champs re owners, the problem now is ffp whereby the owners can no longer throw millions at the club.
Would have thought the priority should be to have the embargo lifted, but how shelfy and co are going to achieve that is beyond me.

You'd think I'd be really worried. Thing is I dont really care. And Dont believe it will ever really be that bad. Of course you do, its a huge thing for you. If I had to watch you do well for 35 years I would be green with envy too. Chelsea arent losing much sleep, neither are Man City ...look at Man U's spending at the moment aswell?? We are tightening things up, but I dont think it will be half as bad as you hope and pray. If it does, it does, thats life. We are in a far better position as a club (better stadium, better training facilities, better academy, a league title, a league cup win etc etc etc) than we where 35 years ago, but will be back in the exact same league position, getting s
