It won't be long until the GLCT's start wailing on about how pleased they are to be in L4, away from the PL.

It's their standard response as reality dictates they'll never return. Not even in their wildest dreams

Friday night games are the pits.

They'll be given off piecemeal to clubs not competing in Europe.[/quote]

Being completely selfish for a second, if we got a Friday night away game in London I'd actually be quite happy with that.

Regardless of club you'd like to think that those fixtures would consider the distance away fans need to travel .. but I doubt it.

It'll create a new away weekend culture. Whoever gets one of the "party" town teams away on a Friday night will involve afternoons off work, travelodges being booked and in many cases, weekenders. Fans who finish work at 5 then need to be up in the morning will be left out in the cold.

It's worth looking at some of the staggering numbers in this.

168 games to be televised, that's 44% of all Prem matches. By my reckoning they've paid over £30m per televised game.

Throw in games moved for Europa purposes and it's hard to believe that more than half the games will now kick off at 3pm on a Saturday.

In 2001 Sky first paid over a billion for the TV rights, in 15 years that has gone over £5b??? Not even London house prices can compete with that.

We all know where the money will go, grass roots my arse. With players salaries now touching £300k a week, where will this end? It'll be interesting to see if any club reduces ticket prices, I bet they don't.

I'm glad I had my fun with Pompey when I did. This isn't really football as we know it anymore.

Happy to admit you're a well run club with a decent academy, but I wonder what impact this money being shared about all the other clubs will have on that? Largely negates its strength I'd have thought.

    Bingo..

And they're still having trouble with the most basic of maths, it seems.

My maths was right, just forgot to divide it by the 3 year deal. So it's £10m a game. That's fine then. £1888 a second apparently.

I'm not wailing, just making a few points.

Money is one thing, glory hunters are another, but that statement sums up what is really wrong with football today.

So you were there flag waving & cheering on Ar$enal when your team were good but now they're **** you're no longer interested?

That is a direct insult to any STH at the rathole & anyone who still goes to cheer their team on despite flirting with dropping out of the league altogether.

Or is it that you're only interested when the charity tins go missing?

I'm wrong but I'm also right.

    Brilliant.

    You were wrong though Mart.
