The clean sheet is a positive which demonstrates that defence is not a problem.
It's the lack of goals which will certainly determine whether we finish fourth or eighth.
Clearly it's not happening up front at the moment when we can't get the better of 9 effective men.
We are short of options and ideas up front.
A two week break will benefit the squad.

It's the decision making, in and around the box, against teams that sit deep, which is really sub standard, TBH.
Players taking on shots, when they should pass, passing when they should shoot, stepping over the ball in the hope someone might be running on to it, behind them, leading to good positions, and possession, being lost.
With so many games against teams that will be more inclined to defend, than attack, I hope we can solve this problem, asap.
We have 6 forwards in our squad, ok 5 if you take out JRod, but even so at what point do you stop accumulating and let others already here have a go? Especially with our academy.
Although I'm not sure that is the whole answer. Didn't we have 8 first team players missing only a week or so ago including creative players like Morgan, Vic, Mane and Bertrant? Will take a while for everyone to settle back in.
Well, at least we totally dominated the game. Frustrating not to score though.
Be grateful we're not West Ham fans. I couldn't watch sh1t like West Ham every week. Absolutely dreadful team, with an anti-football manager as you're ever likely to see.
Two big points dropped tonight.

That will cost us a European placing finish I fear. Tonight & Swansea? 5 points dropped.
Charlie, you wrote this below and I understand what you mean but do you agree with my comments on the QPR thread now or am I still too harsh?

In my opinion Pelle is very important to the way we play and without him we would be stuffed because there is no obvious replacement.
A point against Wet Spam, although I see it as two points lost, is not the end of the world but we entertain the Scouses at SMS in two weeks time and I will be devo'ed if we loose! Our strikers, especially Pelle need to stand up and be counted, he is paid a sh!t load to score but has failed to do so for the last eight games now. As I said, I think he has been found out by the PL backlines and needs to change his approach so he can start scoring again? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Very frustrating game, and one I came away from feeling more than a little disappointed.
So much possession, so much control of defence and midfield, yet so little threat in front of goal.
Eyebrows should indeed be raised when your first decent shot on target comes from your centre half from 25 yards, late in the game and with his wrong foot.
Really not sure what's going on with Pelle at the moment, but he looks like he's had his touch, confidence and shooting feet all surgically removed at the same time.
Other than the fact that we could still be playing now and West Ham still wouldn't have been a threat, this was Swansea revisited.
Must do better.
