STV apologise for being suckered by Rangers fan group smear on charity event.

An earlier version of this article was published under the headline "Police alert over fears Dutch fans to fly to Glasgow for Celtic match".

STV is happy to accept that the 120 fans who flew to Glasgow to see Celtic v Aberdeen from the Netherlands were participating in a weekend of of music, football and charity fundraising.

The police have confirmed that there was no trouble associated with this visit, which also included a charity fundraiser, and a group of 50 fans attending Ayr United v Forfar on Saturday February 28.

The weekend raised money for the Kano Foundation, which offers free football tickets to disadvantaged children, The Invisibles, which helps homeless charities, and Daniel Den Hoed Foundation, a cancer charity.

STV apologises for the inaccuracies in the earlier version of this article.
