Fowler tried and failed to get Paul Hefferman who signed for Premiership Dundee instead

I am wanting us to set up with Reilly and Russell up front and to take the game to them right from the word go. Its going to be some night and let's hope for a bit of history for only the third time in our precious wee clubs existence . Let's do it !

Dont think it would be right to drop jim as he has got us to this round so definitely keep the young man in goal

    Atkinson
    Dowie higgins durnan
    Danny kidd burns mcshane holt
    Russel paton

Could even put mckenna up front as i think its a position that he could play as he is strong and has a good shot on him. I know its not the way the play now but he would always give us a plan b of a strong forward. Honestly think the could play any role in the side even centre back when we need cover

I quite like this team/ideas. Only thing I would consider altering is Lewis Kidd and Paton swapping. Kidd could be a secret weapon up front with Paton just behind front 2.

I guess the really difficult call for the manager is whether to play Gavin or not. No doubt the medical people will have to assess the injury and decide if it has truly healed or not.Gavin will also have to make a big call.

Gavin plays at a level close to 100% at all times so he is probably a player that needs to be fully fit or sit this one out. The big danger is that if he plays and injury breaks down he could put himself out for several weeks or virtually the rest of the season.

If he happens to be unavailable for Friday it is really difficult to know what to do in terms of formation and personnel as our options are not great in the striking areas.

I dont know enough about the youngsters to know if a Pickard or Smith is good enough to fill the void so I would go with :-

    Clark

    Durnan dowie Higgy

    Kidd burns mcShane holt

    Carmichael Russell Paton

Personally i would rather the front 3 played as a 3 up top rather than players drifing into the so called hole where from what I can s

Have to go with our best team so Clark must start in goal.
    Dowie Durnan Higgians Holt
    Kidd Burns McShane Carmichael
    Russell Reilly
Reilly is a risk can,t be 100% fit but it is a risk we must take.
    Get back to 4-4-2

Risking Reilly if he is not 100% fit is utterly crazy because of our lack of back up in striker position. If we played him with a dodgy hamstring and it went again, condemning him to a lengthy spell on the sidelines it would leave us with only Lyle and Russell as decent striker options for so many important upcoming league games, and they are bound to suffer suspension/injury themselves at some point. We need to protect those strikers, not take silly risks. Besides beating Falkirk with only 10 fit men would be difficult.

There is young Aidan Smith and you could think 2 ways on him. This Friday is not the type of game to start an inexperienced striker. On the other hand maybe he would be utterly fearless and com

Young Smith seems to be behind Pickard in the manager's plans going by the last few games

Surprised no one has mentioned Mitchell for a starting role.Whilst he may be "ring rusty" he is definitely experienced enough to fit back in,even though this is such a major game.
If Kidd says he can play upfront then try him a wee bit higher up the park.
    I would go for Clark
    Mitchell Dowie Higgins Holt
    Kidd Burns McShane McKenna
    Paton Russell
