Even the best miss penalties, so not a very good point.

You know what you get with Bent and that's goals; Brian Clough would have loved him.

Bent was not the reason we fell apart. McClaren failed to get the best out of what he had, something he had excelled at, at Derby, until that point.

We need to play a flexible 442 with two guys in centre of midfield who hold the team together, supporting the defence and attack, something Thorne does very well. We need two overlapping full backs who deliver telling passes and crosses. What we had at the end of the season was a lack of movement and pace, and hence we were too predictable.

I see Bent as a super sub and back up to Martin. I'd like to see Ince playing more centrally linking up with Martin as a part of a front two. Of course I'm assuming we w

Nobody said a 20 goal striker was not a bad part of a team.. Ya just made that up..
Martin 21 goals this year... Bent 12 and we finished where?
Martin I will give has lots more to his game.. It's not the 60's fella where you play the big lad up front to bang the goals in...

Do you rate Rooney as a striker?

What have I made up? I was arguing against the theory that a striker had to be more than someone who scores goals - Bent scored 12 in half a season where would we have finished if he hadn't is the more pertinent question!

I'll have a sit by the pool (Chad municipal) and work then both out later.

It'll be interesting to compare to Martin.

Assists will be another interesting stat!

I suppose you could compare Bent to somebody like Conner S, £1.2 million to buy, probably half a million ish a year on wages puts in the effort but is lacking in the main thing that strikers need, an ability to score goals.

I'm not saying Bent is worth braking the bank for if his wages are sky high, but strikers get paid primarily to score goals, and that's what Bent does.
