Dont agree on the MM point mate. I think he works better when there is little or no expectation... As soon as the pressure is on he tends to fold.

The thing is when you look at the other possibilities it does not fill you with hope does it... A certain amount of journeyman managers or sentimental choices.
Time to take a calculated risk...

    Hey how about George Burley
Call me old fashioned but wouldn't Mccarthy have to be at wolves first before he could leave them? Sorry couldn't resist. 2 jokes mentioned on the betting sites: Billy Davies and Robbie Savage. Just proves they just picks out the air.

Clement would be my choice with his pedigree & contacts. My only concern is that he may use Derby as a stepping stone to a bigger club.

I tend to agree Limey, he (Clement) has tasted it with Real Madrid, so will probably not be looking at DCFC more than 2 or 3 seasons. Would that be enough to get us promoted and established in the PL ?? Perhaps not. However there seems to be a consensus among some posters that frequent managerial changes are good (ie Watford)

I really don't have a preference in terms of the realistic (bookies) suggestions. I was excited and positive when Clough first came to Derby and more so when McClaren was appointed.

I guess Clement will bed this week and I do wish him well. But I feel rather indifferent about it if I am honest.

if I wanted to watch rugby every week I'd go down to the Leicester tigers.

awful football. long ball. bullying side.

effective? yes. worth selling your footballing soul for? no chance.

alternatives to clement? warburton is the obvious choice. achieved miraculous things at Brentford. plays good football. no compensation. what's not to like?
