O/T Anyone ever stayed in Sicily?

Taormina is lovely lots of other Brits milling around if you like that sort of thing. Great restaurants and good hotels.
Lovely beaches one is a nudist beach where my mouth dropped on the sand at the Sicilian women

Catania the capital again good town many nice sights. Try to split the time and spend 3 days in each then a day in Syraccuse

I've been to Sicily stayed in the west of the island not far from Palermo. It's less touristy I think than the area around Mount Etna. There are some great villages on the north coast, very picturesque but it can get extremely hot with oppressive temperatures. Palermo is a typical Italian town with bustling streets and overcrowded roads but pleasant enough.

Agringento on the south coast has some interesting historical buildings, The Valley of the Temples worth a visit.

Marsala in the west is famous for the sweet wine we drink on occasion.

Cefalu on the north coast is a gem with a wonderful harbour.

Whilst we were there in September a wind comes in from the coast of North Africa and at 2300 hours it was still over 45 degrees!

Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Anyway all booked by her indoors.. ...hopefully what she has chosen turns out okay...

Apparently we're visiting Letojanni near Taormina... Mount Etna and the Godfather trip are on the itinerary...Mama mia...
