beggar's belief eh MoP? old timer I know you like a wind up but shotton better than shackell AND Keogh? good one mate!

I'm convinced that 4-3-3- is our best system because martin and thorne are so specialist. so:

    carson

    baird Keogh shackell forsyth

    thorne

    butters Johnson

    ince martin Russell

I think he'll go with 4-2-3-1 though with the same personal but Johnson dropping deeper.

it's wasted having 2 DMF's imo as thorne likes to run the show himself.

Interesting Rapid. I hadn't considered that option.

    Carson
    Baird Keogh Shackell Forsyth
    Thorne Johnson
    Ince Butterfield Russell
    Martin

You are right though 4-3-3 would be better as Johnson carries goal threat, both with long range shooting and also aerial presence.

I like the look of both of those team's slasher/rapid.

The 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 are remarkably similar if you select the same personnel for both (e.g. a midfield 3 of Thorne, Johnson and Butters)

I think, due to the players we have, we'll line up 4-3-3.

Carson- He's been coolness personified so far.
Baird- Mr. Steady back at right back for the foreseeable
Keogh- He's been our best defender so far this season
    Shackell- A leader and natural left-sided centre-back
Forsyth- One of ther better left backs in the league when on song.

Thorne- Our key man in terms of solidity between attack and defence. I still think he/Martin are our most important players.

Butterfield- Can come deep to dictate play, but likes to create further up, or so I believe
Johnson- Can defend also, but carries a goal threat.

Ince- At his best when cutting in/drifting in from the right
Martin- Our chief goal-getter and offensive weapon, both directly and indirectly.
    Russell- Bags of energy, intel

    I'm thinking the diamond.

    Carson

    Baird
    Keogh
    Shackell
    Forsyth

    Thorne bottom

    Bryson right side
    Johnson left side

    Butterfield at top

    Martin
    Russell

Extremely versatile, system, simple tweaks for much more defensive I.e 4411, easily changed to 4231 or 433 if a change is necessary, fits everyone in, doesn't require full backs to create the width, gets two up front two positions up for grabs, which will keep pretty much all our forwards happy and motivated.

We have back up in every position.

Grant, Christie, Pearce, Buxton, Warnock, and Shotton keeping everyone on their toes in defence.

Baird will fill in ala Eustace did last season if required! Hendrick, and also Butterfield can slot in to left right mids, or Hanson, Dawkins and Ince are also challenging for the tip! Ince could play up front too, or Bent and Weimman!

    Seems very strong

Hughes can come back too to finish the season, beautiful!
