I'm not sure Doodle, it seemed like he was doing it more out of desperation to get on the ball and try and be an influence as opposed to him being told to do it.

Ram Bam. I don't want you to think I'm having a go at you with this criticism because I'm not but I feel you asumption Martin is coming wide to attempt to get on the ball is wrong. I think it's been worked on at training now Weimann is playing. I think he's pulling wide to drag defenders and create space for Weimann to run centrally where he is more effective. If Ince is playing he stays central as Ince if more effective wide. I do agree though it has compromised Martins performance a little to get more out of Weimann but overall better for us as an attacking unit.

In that case its a good thing isnt it? Better to get involved, and as long as like of Weimann and others bomb into the spaces he has left, then everyones happy. Worse would be to sit there in the middle and the game passes Chrissy by

Frank was unable to complete his Airfix Spifire model because he was involved at regular intervals; didn’t really have a save to make of note but touched the ball regularly; QPR pressed high so Frank had to kick out which was good, high, long and hard {a bit like me on a Friday night}. He gave a lot of orders to his defenders and is very manly when he does so. Can’t see Granty getting too many chances this year. Frank is rock solid.

I’m starting to see Cyrus in a white disco suit (a la John Travolta in Night Fever}; cos when the ball’s at his feet, those hips start to sway and his feet begin to glide. Cyrus danced down the right at least a dozen times; at full tilt, he pulls his white jacket off, swings it around his head, and then cuts inside, with a little body swerve. He put in 3 or 4 telling balls that didn’t quite connect; he won several corners. Just needs to keep doing it. His defensive work was good but let down when he won the ball well de

Looking at your comments on Christie, Shackell and Keogh I believe that I have uncovered your identity as the Italian chap who sits next to Len on Strictly. Great summary of performances but surely Hanson deserves some score - perhaps a dominant 8?
If only I was that good-looking. And Italian.Originally Posted by MauldenMike
You are right though, Hanson deserves at least a 7 for adding much needed stoutness late on.
Like your ratings Ella, though the fact Carson hardly had a save to make might mean the marks for our CB's should reflect that and be as high as Carsons, (as in D Ds ratings).
Recent team selections and results reflect great credit on Paul Clement and he fully deserves his score for last night.
