    re: Sheffield Wednesday(home)predictions

Wed were unlucky not to score about 10 mins earlier. Hanley was down in their box when they scored the equaliser, not sure if it was one that should have stopped play or not, (Howie?); but if we're going to try and defend a 1 goal lead for 1/2 an hour against opposition like that, then 2-2 is a good result for Rovers, as Wed could have walked with all 3 points. Still, at least the team has a bit of shape these days, you can actually tell who is supposed to be playing where.

Thought a draw was a fair result ..although one could say Weds maybe desreved more by taking the game to Rovers.

As for the Hanley incident (Dan)..if he d made a song and dance of it and actually screamed blue murder maybe the ref would have/could have blown up .but to be honest just one of those things.
Again ..fair result i think ..hic!

At least today's result brought expectations back to Earth. There is work to be done and personel changes needed here and there to be the sort of team that will deliver a run

That is one of the daftest statements you have ever made on here.

Sometimes, you really can't disagree with Auck's assessment of a situation

Badly worded. Never mind eh? was very disappointed with Lambert's post match interview where he revealed he told the players 'if you can't win, don't lose'.. Very bowyeresque..

I will disagree with you saxo
Lambert has to maintain the confidence the players have at the moment and after conceding a late equaliser heads would of dropped
do you slam them and risk a negative effect or put a positive slant on things?
I have been nothing but impressed with his interviews so far.

From what I heard SW were well worthy of a point (for some maybe even more), but major consensus for those that actually watched it was a fair result.
This is work in progress, so given SW's current status (performance wise) I totally see PL's slant on this game.

What Lambert should have said is "if you cant win you may as well lose" maybe then people would be happy . In reality he and the players would have been massively disappointed . He did say after the game that he told the players not to be too disappointed by it , this is a work in progress and he believes there is a long way to go .
To me the players looked tired 2nd hald especially Rhodes who I thought should have come off . In fact I would have had both Rhodes and Taylor off and got Brown and Lawrence on for the last 20 mins .
Maybe its the harder training taking its toll but once they are used to it we should see more of the football we played first half , which was high tempo closing down game . I`m quietly optimistic that we`ll have a good 2nd half to the season . I don`t think we`ll make play offs this time but next season we have to be challenging .
