Am I never allowed to give an honest opinion now without being accused of stubbornness? I'm not opening this can of worms again but as long as he continues to contribute to goals I won't complain about his lack of contribution to the rest of the game.
I didn't say you were stubborn...just meant that that you saw him differently to many...doesn't mean anyone is right or wrong...all about opinions.thats what is great

Except when they're about Shotton, eh paulo? ;-)
Shotton was rubbish again that is true.

Well, he's not actually had much chance to prove himself or otherwise recently. I think his versatility is all that will save him and tbh I wouldn't be too disappointed to see him leave for pastures new. On the other hand, there's been a lot written by some about what a 'waste of space' Christie, Keogh, Warnock and Weimann are and strangely they, imo, were four of our best players last night and one of them is a leading candidate for player of the season so far. Just sayin'.

Well you know fans, a player comes in and unless he is an instant hit he is *bleep*e! You can add Butterfield to that list, oh Carson's signing wasn't actually greeted with a lot of enthusiasm.

Warnock always was a good player, but as with all players they need games to settle in, get used to the team, the system etc.

He played just about every game last season? He's had more than enough chances. He'd be the first person I'd show the door to without a doubt. Keogh I've constantly backed because put simply, he's one of our best players even though the people that call up Radio Derby think completely differently. Christie I've been backing to get into the starting XI sinc

Think my key word was 'recently' - not 'last season' - RBF. Not really arguing, he's been a disappointment for sure though strangely he probably has more experience of playing in the Premiership than most. My only point was that plenty of others have been vilified and written off but have eventually come good. As Swale says, people moaned at Butterfield and Carson was hardly welcomed with open arms but now they're heroes, so I won't write RS off till he's gone.

Fair, and there's a reason why he's not playing this season. I've heard a couple of stories as to why we signed him, and now he's just a waste of space. He's not back up, just soaking up his wages whilst he has a club because I doubt anyone else will pick him up for the same amount he's probably on now. Although Steve Evans probably will sign him. He has got Premier League experience, although I still believe that the only reason he played was to replace Rory Delap with his throw ins.

Shotton has had loads of chances .cyrus Christie has gone from me watching the worst Derby right back display ever away at Fulham last year ...to a man possessed......tbh I had written Christie off after his abysmal performances last year...how wrong can you be !

Shotton hasn't been a huge success thats true, we would'nt have signed Shackell otherwise, at the time he seemed a good option, versatile, could play RB and CB and to be fair he hasn't been poor in all his games but cannot see a way back now with Baird, Pearce and Buxton as cover.
