O/T Britain in EU or not?

As an outsider, I see advantages and disadvantages to EU membership. A common market and even a currency union is one thing, but the EU went farther (and would have gone farther still had not there been a popular revolt against it in several countries). It adopted policies that would not have gotten a favorable majority vote in any member country--and yet passed with little discussion in Brussels. It is anti-democratic. The economic policies that it has imposed since 2008 have been disastrous, yet the leadership learns nothing.
