re: Is this team good enough to go up?

Spot on VdLH. Think OTR raises a perfectly valid, not negative, point although he actually raises two questions. Are we good enough to go up - which VdLH and AdiS have, imo, answered perfectly - and are we good enough to stay up - which can't really be answered because 'this team' won't be the one that ever has to stay up as there will need to be at least half a dozen changes next summer to stand a realistic chance.
As for calling Ince 'absolute tripe this season' RBF, I'm afraid I agree, but didn't you score him an 8 or 9 just one game ago against Hull?

    AnagRam

I was actually asking if anyone thought the existing team is good enough to keep us up (assuming we go up) and I think you have actually answered that point. The only chance of staying up is to bring in at least 4 or 5 Premier League quality players. Just my negative opinion of course lol.

It seems I only see things in black and white, but I guess that will be resolved with my anxiety therapy.

Good enough for promotion - yes
Good enough to survive - not without strengthening, new wing/full-backs a must

Who is good enough and not good enough for the Premier League?

    Carson -Yes
Grant - Probably, especially as back-up!
    Forsyth - No!
    Christie - Not as a right-back. Mid/winger maybe?
    Warnock - No!
    Shackell -Yes
Keogh - Maybe but accident prone. Need strength in-depth here.
Ince - Probably, but not stuck on wing.
Martin - Probably, but needs quick service and close support.
    Hendrick - No
    Thorne - Yes!
    Hughes - Yes!
    Bryson - No
    Weimann - No
Johnson - Yes, if loses some timber
Butterfield - Yes, looks potentially to have class
Bent - Has already proved he can play there.

I think its safe to say that should we go up Mel Morris would have his hand in his pocket again as return on his investment too date would have shown to be worthwhile. Clement is no fool he knows we would need to add in all areas (except for keeper) and I think MM would back him all the way. Billy Davies tried the sentimental approach and we got found out in record breaking fashion.

Doubt that Billy Davies and 'sentimental' have ever been used together in the same sentence before Manx, but I agree with everything else about MM and PC.

KingCharlieGeorge Agree with all your choices how anybody thinks Weiman could cut it in the Prem again is beyond me his passing and decision making are at best average Can we get promoted possibly but far from sure we will Can we stay there hypothetical question because all promoted teams have to buy I looked at the Watford team at the weekend only3 outfield players from last season when you think theve sent Vydra out on loan it shows how much you have to change At least if we do go up Clement would know about players from abroad

To put it simply, I think we're more than capable to go up this season. I think the standard of the Championship is poorer than in past seasons and we have more class than the other teams around us, we just need to make sure we get the job done.

In terms of staying up, we have three types of players. Ones who are Premier League material. Ones who aren't. And ones who are still young and could be Premier League in a few seasons. Unfortunately that doesn't help us when we want to be there next year.

One person I am certain is prem class is Thorne. He isn't on top form atm but that guy is destined for the top imo.

Oh and I agree with most on here, maybe we are good enough to go up but we'd have to replace %70 of the team to stay up.

I disagree that OTR is suffering from mental health issues though, that was a pretty left field accusation without any basis. Standard footy mad.
