Fair point Griff, I didn't cover the Jenkins issue that Barry raised.

For a kick off, I don't believe the money he's loaned the club has been at all necessary. I know it's the popular view, but I think it's the correct one. Every penny of his "loan" has been due to his own disastrous management decisions - employing Abbott for a lengthy period and watching him squander millions and appointing Kavanagh. Realistically however, he's not going to admit that and I don't expect him to write the "loan" off, as Fred did - as frankly I believe the blood sucking old leech will want every penny back.

I would, as you suggest, take the short term financial pain of paying him back in order to get him out of the club. However, I don't believe he would either accept payment or ever* relinquish control - he wants to realise his retirement fund, not simply be paid back. You have to look at the real motivation of the debt he's created to himself, it's entirely corrupt. The club does NOT need handou

TIM THANKS FOR THE LONG AND DETAILED REPLY

BUT AS MINE WAS ONLY A THROW AWAY STATEMENT I.LL PAD IT OUT FOR YOU AS YOU SEEM TO HAVE MADE QUITE A FEW INCORRECT ASSUMPTIONS

Just a few small problems with that business plan.

    £300 x 3000 = £900,000

Then you have to subtract the "discounts" you've promised from the overall total - which you say will equal the amount paid - so you'd be offering £900,000 in discounts? Where is the overall benefit to the club? Even if people only take up 50% of the discounts offered (which is a conservative estimate) you're left with a capital injection of £450,000 - which is hardly going to change the world. Consider an average gate of 3000 @ £15 (overall) a head should give you revenue of £1,035,000 over a season - based on 23 games - what makes you think this customer group are suddenly going to want to pay a third more?

Effectively you'll be asking supporters to give money to the trust, who own shares in the holding company, who own shares in

    DEANO

I.VE CONTACTED THEM BOTH TO SEE IF ONE IS YET TO APPROACH YOU

I.M PRETTY CERTAIN I KNOW THE OTHER ONE HAS DONE.

BUT YOU COULD MAKE THINGS A LOT CLEARER FOR PEOPLE IF YOU WERE TO SAY WHY YOURE GIVING IT UP AS THERES A LOT OF STRANGE RUMOURS GOING ROUND ABOUT WHY ONE INVOLVING A SUM OF £2000

CONTRARY TO WHAT YOU MIGHT THINK I BELIEVE YOUVE DONE A GREAT JOB IN SETTING UP THE WHOLE THING FROM SCRATCH MY ONLY CRITICISM [ DESPITE YOU BANNING ME HALF A DOZEN TIMES ]IS OVER MODERATION I.D JUST PAY THE INSURANCE AND THEN LET PEOPLE SAY WHAT THE **** THEY WANT

AND ON THAT SUBJECT RATHER THAN A TOTAL SWEARIE FILTER ID JUST PUT A WARNING ON TO THE YOUTH ELEMENT THAT THE BOARD IS AIMED AT ADULTS AND ITS LIKELY YOU.LL FIND WORKING CLASS ADULTS USING WORKING CLASS LANGUAGE ON IT FROM TIME TO TIME

THE TWO BLACKPOOL SITES ALTHOUGH VERY DIFFERENT IN STYLES SHOULD BE EXAMPLES OF HOW A GOOD BOARD IS RUN IN MY OPINION.NO SWEARIE FILTERS AND YOU CAN SAY WHAT YOU LIKE ABOUT WHO YOU L

Would love to know what these rumours are Barry. There's certainly no sum involved. As I've explained to one guy who approached me, the site costs approx £300 per year to run; however that cost could be significantly removed. I'm handing over the forum FOC, not expecting any money for it whatsoever. As I say, one has definitely contacted me, and is aware of the costs. He's also aware he can take control FOC - obviously he'll have to bear the costs domain/hosting and email (if required) costs going forward.

I don't want to have to pay any insurance - though admittedly I've not looked at how much it costs. I'm giving up the running of it for various personal reasons which I'd rather not go into, they're private. I don't need the added stress and hassle from solicitors to worry about too because of certain posts/people.

Appreciate your comments about setting it up, it's not something I've ever done before and has been a massive learning curve. I've enjoyed the most of it, it's br

Absolutely Tim - it's not a CUOSC forum, the CUOSC board have absolutely no input/say in how I run it. I was running the board for 7 months before I became a CUOSC member, and 19 months before I joined the CUOSC board. I've only been running it for 5 months since becoming a board member. My posts at times are going to be bias towards CUOSC - I'm on a board that is now trying to do things right. Prior to that, and prior to being a member, I have been extremely critical of CUOSC.

As I said, if you want to take over the running, drop me an email and I'll provide further details of costs/hosting. I want rid, free of charge, to whoever wants it. If nobody wants it, I'll close it down completely.

No cost. If I put 10, ahem, "articles" up each month they give me a tenner. On top of that I get 15 pence per 1000 hits. As you can probably tell, I'm not in it for the money.

I contacted Mike about hosting it as its my job to look after website hosting/emails and content etc and could possibly bring the costs down.

I don't have as much time as what Mike has had and i'd be looking for someone else to admin the forum as its not something i'd be great at as i'd delete everyone. However if no one wants it and Mike wants rid it would be a shame to lose the site and i would step in.

Whatever happens, Mullen, I think that there must be two boards. It's one of the reasons I took over here; it doesn't matter whether the boards are competitive or complementary there's a need for more than one for each to give accountability to the other, to offer a place for refugees or rejects from either and as a fallback for continuity in case one goes tits up. I'm happy to keep this as it is, though I'm not sure that some posters over on the other board know that this one still exists. Some of them are quite insular, aren't they?

If worst comes to worst and Mike takes it down and can't get anyone i'd create my own messageboard.

Its not an avenue i really want to go down because they already is 2 message boards already, which is why i contacted Mike as everyone knows the url and logins for Mikes site rather than having to create a new one with a new url.
