What skill???!!! All he did was kick and rush after the ball, sometimes outpacing opponents but mostly not. Attacked like a slower poorer Andrei kanchelskis..
I'm not saying he's brilliant, JR. He definitely has his limitations. However, he does look comfortable on the ball, and we do not have many players that can be said of!
I also think we should acknowledge how hard he worked on his game. He was subjected to huge abuse on the fan-sites when he first started playing.
And some credit goes to Bowyer too, for converting him into a full-back who could win player-of-the-season.
Not putting the lad down but for a full back to get player of the season just highlighted how bad the rest of the players performances actua

The long throw is ok as an occasional weapon, but I wonder how many times it is effective. After all, the defenders are all expecting it. It hardly ever worked with Pedersen, certainly.
I have no problem with Spurr, but I would like to see Conway permanently on the left in front of him - especially with Marshall, Bennett and Lawrence all right-footed. (I am one of those who think we should persevere with Henley at full-back, despite his flaws. I still think he can become a good player).

I agree dont want to start getting too reliant on this long throw malarky again...Ok for a change of tactic now and again .

The long throw is also a foul throw from Spurr , if you watch he actually throws it with one hand .

With quite a few players out of contract this summer i can certainly see the squad being whittled down personnel wise hence opening doors for new blood.PL mentioned in one of his early interviews that this transfer window was as you say only a stop gap with no cash being spent.Summer will be different due to accounts having to be submitted in June allegedly and the new three year ruling over FFP debts,so on paper opening the door for the club to potentially spend some money.

How many PL will need who knows but i can see a lot of the players we have now being jettisoned although we are top heavy squad wise. Quality over quantity required but again the position we re in that may not be as easy as seems.

It will be interesting to see if venkys will go all in with the summer window
Maybe somebody can inform me but can you spend your 3 year amount in the one season or does it have to fall within the 12 million per year?

Totally agree with your last sentence. It all comes down to how attractive a proposition our Club is now to players of the quality we need.
I am beginning to think we may need to look abroad again - always a gamble. (On the whole,
