Brilliant wholehearted warrior - probably not PL class but gave everything for the team. Remember him coming back on loan and scoring on his first appearance back - was a great day.

Loved watching him play - good partnership with Phil Gee

    I make you right.

I see him score two goals to win it for us in the home game against Newcastle with keegan and waddle in the side.....we were 2-1 down at the time......difference between then and now .....is MASSIVE.

The games gave you a NATURAL HIGH back then .....truly like a drug..........some people will never know that feeling..............I've had a good life,

Very true - not sure whether it's a time of life thing or just that the footballers were more 'honest' then. The games did generate some excitement unlike most of this season which has left me pretty bored & frustrated - probably a time of life thing actually!

Yeah your probably right - something to compare it to I suppose.

But the 'honesty' thing is so true - they LOVED the game back then, the money wasn't the driving force...but HITTING THE BACK OF THE NET WAS................they really enjoyed scoring...or DAVISON did anyway.

Agreed, probably not PL class but he'd be the first on the team sheet amongst the current crop...the words 'wholehearted' and 'warrior' say it all and coincidentally, along with 'partnership', describe exactly what we are missing at the moment.

we were in the 3rd tier just after he arrived but you knew with him , micklewhite, gregory ,steele , willians, gee and hindmarch in the side we would soon improve. 2 years later we were in the top flight .

Sure Bobby would be fairly vocal about the modern day footballer !

Would love to hear his views on Martin's falling over antics & Ince's disinterest

Agree he didn't have Saunders' class but could never fault his industry , desire & bravery

Certainly one of my favourite Rams players and that is high praise as I've watched Hector , George , Saunders , Sammon(!!)

Davidson was a jewell amidst a pile of junk. He was great at breaking through the defence onto a pass and beating the keeper as he advanced out. One v one, he was about the best I've seen at Derby.

Quiz question for the older fans who remember him playing - he scored in his first ever match at the Baseball Ground - but who was it against?

    Think carefully though....
