I've no idea why Saxo is so confident we will win. He seems to have replaced Sam with Paul Lambert as someone to have blind faith in.
If we DO win, it will be an enormous relief, but I simply cannot see any grounds for predicting a victory so confidently.

I've watched highlights of Derby against Brentford. Derby's goals all stemmed from Tom Ince being given too much freedom down their right flank (and he only came on in the 76th minute!!). This is precisely where we have problems. Whoever plays at left-back will need lots of cover from a tackling midfielder. On the other hand, Brentford managed to create eight shots on target, so we do have a chance of scoring.
Incidentally, Alan Judge got another excellent goal for Brentford. How did he manage to appear so ordinary with us?

Because he was never ever given a chance,no extended run in the team as Gary Bowyer built up his matching set of 16 midfielders

Hope that Henley,Ward,Akpan & Conway dont play after their awful performances against West Ham......can the reserves/Academy youngsters really be any worse? All the others were at least occasionally involved in the game.....which means Brown starts for me.......

I don't think we will see any of those above players start
I think he will resort to a diamond formation again
Evans deep lenihan and Bennett centrally and Gomez just behind brown and Graham
touching on what aucks said protection for spurr is essential both Bennett and Evans will have to give a little more attention to ince.

Well, at least the Tuesday results mean that relegation is almost impossible now, especially with our three games in hand. One of the bottom three would have to find a dramatic change in form and fortune to climb above us.
This should mean PL is able to try out the odd tweak without worrying too much.

I expect akpan to start in an away game.

As for my prediction, don't take it so seriously aucks. What difference does it make what I predict?

It's not the prediction itself, Saxo. I agree predictions are guesswork. It's just that you seem to feel all our troubles are over and everything in Lambert Gardens is lovely. I'm just saying, "Wait and see." You can't put too much weight on one excellent win. I remember people doing that after we beat Charlton, Leeds and Ipswich. Those examples of euphoria or relief didn't last long!!
Sorry about those wet chips again.
