    Maybe the driver was on his or hers PNB. (Physical needs break), We all need to go to the toilet.
    Or maybe the driver was having a game of cards or doing a bit of shopping.

    Tannoy is a manufacturer of public address systems.
    Only old people call a public address system a "Tannoy"
    Don't think your Grammar school education worked for you very well to be honest.
    And my education was fine thank you.

    I remember my 7 years commuting from Bath into London and watching SW trains flitting in and out.

    Oh, Leeds (and Burnley for that matter) is in the Midlands.
