Don't really get this 'like for like' argument. Is there any such thing? Take us as an example...anyone who played us during August, or worse still - January - stood a much better chance of getting something from us than anyone who played us between September and December. Likewise teams now in the bottom quarter - unless they're already totally doomed - are likely to put up more of a fight at this stage of the season because relegation is a much more imminent prospect, Rotherham, under a new manager, being a perfect example.
Personally I have no great enthusiasm for Wassall as a long term appointment but credit where it's due, he has undeniably turned things round results wise from where we were in the six weeks or so after Christmas.

Talk of win ratios after eight games is pure folly. Each game equates to 12.5% Not statistically robust.

Excellent point. One I have made on other occasions when people have jumped on the band wagon. Need to compare like for like to get a true feel. Great example was mcclaren when he got wins against lesser opposition. lfl in that first season with Clough there was a single point difference but some much worse performances against decent opposition. Oh no who mentioned like for like? you've woken up a red herring that we hoped had swum off a long time ago!

Like for like proves absolutely **** all but then in the kingdom of the blind the one eyed man is king

Not only that - the McLaren/Clough claptrap is creeping out again. Let it go please

You wrote 'that by any standards is excellent even tho he's inherited others teams when things haven't being going well'.

Tell me how that is not a statement, you followed with a question.
