Maybe it should be called Great Britain then, like in the tennis. We'd all be able to support it then.

Sounds a bit like the Scotland football team. You do have to qualify to play cricket for England, English parentage (Pieterson, Hick, Lamb etc), or have played for at least 4 years for an English County side (Owen Morgan etc). Plus if you read up on sonme these lads they all wanted to play for England from a young age, who doesn’t dream of that…..

England is a m[size=3]ongrel nation, no surprise they take people from all over. Including New Zealanders for their rugby team. Totally shameless.

If we are going to be picky about it, the England cricket team has always included Wales - I think the full title says it but I'm not sure, since Wales isn't a proper country - although it is more of one than yon province.
Personally, I dislike people playing for countries that they have no proper attachment to, and I also like to see England lose at everything - although I am surprised they screwed this one up as the West Indies haven't really been a force in world cricket since Ambrose and Walsh were tearing up the wicket. Cricket in Scotland is currently poor but that is hardly surprising given the national attitude to the game. It isn't really a Scottish thing but more people take it up after world cups so perhaps one day we will be able to beat someone.
However, for the record, I am glad they got horsed

Stevie G and Carra are both big cricket fans. Liverpool is a big cricket city, Lancashire play matches there, cricket is cool
