re: 19 things we remember about the BBG!

Apart from sitting with my grand father as a young kid I remember watching the lights of Normanton over the ABC stand as it got dark. Always seemed to get misty and you could see the pitch get damp and the ball speed up over the grass (mud!).

Some great games. Paulo mentioned the Rotherham game. Remember beating the red dogs for the first time in years. Saunders and Gee scoring. Loved the walk to and from the ground as so many people so close.

I don't miss but remember the smell on the terraces of cigarettes and ****. But most of all what seems to have left since we did was that feeling of togetherness. Tho inthinknthatvwas more down to not having the pl turning fans into plastics.

It was a **** hole but felt like home.

Agree with Manx, always at its best under lights. So many memories, most outstanding...only been in Derby for a month and just went out of interest but beating Benfica in front of 36,000 and, as a fan, Dean Saunders' debut and Ted McMinn's relief and delight at the 2-1 win against Ars enal in, I think, late November 1989.
Great atmosphere but the chances of that embarrassing, attention seeking 'drummer' ever recreating the BBG atmosphere at Pride Park was always a non starter. One experiment never to be tried again I hope.
