Beta, are you saying that Europe might declare war on the nations outside the EU if we leave ?

Out for me, divide from the loons running the EU spending £ we send not to benefit us, hopefully if out will be able to send back illegals etc even if they happen to have a budgie born in this country that it will tear the family apart & yes I did use budgie for humour.

History shows the disastrous effects of isolationism.
You cannot turn the clock back.
Britain no longer has an empire nor any manufacturing capability to speak of.
We do have a massive budget and balance of payments deficit. What do we have that others would like to trade ?
We have a declining military and our influence in the World, already limited, would become insignificant.
The EU is not perfect, it needs to be reformed and we're better off driving that process from within.
Peace and strength through unity. No more wars !

If we left and no longer had freedom of movement for employment around Europe, it would certainly make the football leagues interesting, as many of the players currently playing in the leagues would not qualify to play under international appearance rules. Would clubs have to terminate contracts of existing players and pay compensation? Would it mean that English players would become more valuable may play into Pompeys hands as I think all are players are from the uk.
These are the important type of things that the politicians should be talking about not whether we would be better of financially in or out.
Also what would ukip do? It would have no euro mps, so would loose a lot of its funding streams which has been paid by Europe though wages and expenses.

Scoular, of course not, we are the biggest war-mongers in the EU.

I'm saying that the EU is better than anything which went before it in recent centuries, and we should want it to survive and flourish, and if we want that then we should be part of it.

Actually I think we should be central to it, but that option is not on the ballot paper.

I agree totally....just couldn't understand your "war" implication.
Anyway I am looking forward to a decision one way or another as the uncertainty is seriously affecting my income.

What bothers me most is that both the Remain and Leave campaigns are campaigning on the basis of short-term considerations, many of which have nothing to do with the EU as such, and made-up predictions of what disasters will happen if we leave (or remain).

Fully agree.....did anyone see Michael Grove's speech today? Totally contradicting what the remain party are saying (Well the Government really!)......how on earth is the "man or woman on the street" meant to make an informed decision on what is being stated by either campaign group? Who do you believe........Oh and by the way its nice for once to see a sensible forum thread discussing "politics" without it descending into abuse..........
PS: It will probably start now I've said that!!
PPS: I've finally come round after Saturday's "smash and grab" raid.......hoping for three points tonight against poor old York.......personally I have take no satisfaction in possibly sending th
