Apart from Graham - as a replacement for Rhodes, and Gomez (admittedly inconsistent) - necessary because of our lack of creativity in midfield, would it be fair to say that PL's imports have proved to be irrelevant? Ward has looked good, but we already had Hanley, Duffy and Kilgallon there.
We started yesterday's game with only two of the imports and it seems to have been an improved performance.
It appears that PL thought he had to perform a rescue-act on a squad that was sinking, but the imported "lifeguards" have rarely looked better than the players replaced!
I said, at the time, that he was over-reacting, spurred on by the fans' sheer boredom with treading water under Bowyer. The statistics now seem to confirm that.
We started the season badly, but the figures for Bowyer's last ten games were:
3 wins and 14 points [GF: 11; GA: 8]. That equates to 1.40 points-per-game and 64 points over 46 matches.
Lambert started with a bang:
In 4 games, 3 wins and 10 points. (GF: 7; GA: 3)
