Need someone who is mentally strong, someone who can impose himself.Tough guys usually win.
Look at Gary Rowett went from Burton to Birmingham done a good job.
If the ones available with championship experience not what we can afford or what we need why not look at other options.
Gareth Ainsworth for example??
Yes it's a gamble but looking at the supposed candidates Gray or Bowyer not many on here want them do they ??
Thoughts anyone.

Well with roughly the same players, same club, same chairman:-
Steve Evans no Championship experience - struggled
Neil Redfearn little Championship - struggled
Neil Warnock lots of Championship experience - started to get results
Pocket, Gareth Ainsworth is a good shout. I always liked him as a player.
Wycombe have tied him to a long term contract not too long ago so T.S. would have to pay compensation although that wouldn't be a problem to Tone. Maybe it's not the right time for Ainsworth..........
I suppose that a manager with decent Championship experience seems the safer option for a club that routinely flirts with relegation.
I must say I've always advocated Championship experience but have to confess thes of potential managers who fit that category are a bit uninspiring.
If TS decides to risk someone from the lower leagues then I hope it's a manager with a proven track record of success as was the case when he appointed Steve Evans.
Hopefully we'll know early next week.

TS allegedly offered Colin/Sir Neil a very decent package not just by our standards but up there with the top championship earners.
there's only one manager without championship experience Tony Stewart should be chasing and that is Darrell Clarke..
hes a local lad. (if you can call Mansfield local)
his 267 games as manager resulted in 141 wins 60 draws and 66 loses. win ratio 52.8% (evans 42% warnock 39%)
he had 3 seasons with Salisbury and won 2 promotions.
he took over at bristol 29 march when they were heading out of the league. he failed to keep them up on goal difference.
the very next season 2014/2015) he won promotion back into league 2. last season he did it again getting promotion into league 1
koooooomon tony. go get him
Look at the Blades when they were relegated. That side should never have gone down, and wouldn't have done had McCabe not sacked Blackie. They brought in Speed and then Adams, neither of whom had any Championship experience. It will be difficult enough for a manager who knows this division inside out next season, without making the job even more difficult.
Its got to be the hardest job ever, picking a manager...we need somebody who wants it and wants it badly..no good picking somebody whos done it before but is now going through the motions just picking a wage up for spending money..experienced managers didnt seem to work for sheff utd...theyre a division below but theyve got one now who wants it with fire in his belly...
go on then jolly, im expecting one of your classics with my last few words...![]()
