I'm merely stating what's in the press...it's far too early for Hursty but we know how far our budget goes ala Redfearn so nowt would surprise me where RUFC are concerned...

John Smith's smooth is absolute sh*t, I won't give it belly room, I used to drink John Smith's Magnet a better drink, cost tuppence more than John Smiths bitter, some had mixed, which was half pint of each, this was a penny dearer than best bitter, they have tried to do a John Smiths Magnet, no way as good as the original.
Always remember when I was on nights at pit, & went for a afternoon session, you would see draymen with the deliveries for John Smiths, they used to down 2 to 3 pints of Magnet, & still drive wagon, plus pints t
The White Lion, in its heyday, was a lovely cosy pub and good meeting place for a pre-match (or after-match) drink. Great pint of Wards - the pub was a regular in the CAMRA good beer guide for many years too.
I don;t think that J.Smiths brew "real" Magnet any more - I haven't even seen the bottled version for years.
A pity, because it was so much better than the rather thin John Smiths Bittter.
Do you know, when I were a lad you could get a tram down into t'town, buy three new suits an' an ovvercoat, four pair o' good boots, go an' see Frank Randall at t'Palace Theatre, get blind drunk, 'ave some steak an' chips, bunch o' bananas an' three stone o' monkey nuts an' still 'ave change out of a farthing.
