If you want an insipid tournament scraping through the qualifiers or missing out entirely like we usually do then play 2 DCM. I however want to see change and utilise our strength rather than worry about our weakness.

    Hart
    Clyne Cahill Smalling Rose
    Dier
    Henderson Ali
    Vardy Kane Rashford

Edit: I forgot Dier (yes I realise he won't drop Rooney)

    [quote="roger_ramjet".

I prefer the more conservative approach in Triz's team for this reason. if we had a more reliable pair of centre backs then we need not have the 2 DCM line up, but we don't. I am therefore surprised that Drinkwater has not made the squad as he can also play the DCM role. This suggests Hodgson isnt going for a Triz lineup.

Personally would have left Rodney at homeas he is being shoe horned into a position which isnt really his forte. if he is not good enough to start as a striker, why take him?[/quote]

I think you're right about Roy not playing my way, which will cost us dear I think (unless he is thinking of sticking attacking midfield crock wilshere in the DCM role). I don't know why hodgson has a reputation of picking negative teams, with England he is too gung ho if anything. 424 at the WC was madness. And leaving our back 4

What change? We tried utilising our strengths and not worrying about our weaknesses at the last World Cup. How'd that go? I'm the one that wants to see change here.Playing your way will have us beat every game again. I'd like to see us have a shot, not be embarrassed by the classic English mindset of 'let's stick all our best players on and to buggary with any tactics'

Tactics lol you couldn't win at a game of tiddlywinks duck.

What were our strengths at the World Cup? Nothing more than a bland team in a harder tournament.

The two Spurs full backs for me look a great pairing, in fact I'd be starting all 5 Spurs players.

Dier, Ali, Lallana and Rooney in midfield with Kane and Vardy up top for me. It's that flippin centre half pairing that is my only worry.

Last WC we had jagkielka and Cahill at CB, we played 424 with Gerard deep so that we could fit in Rooney sterling welbeck and sturridge ( remember everyone was super hyped about sterling and sturridge after great seasons, just like you are now with alli Kane and vardy). And we got spanked. You haven't a clue what your talking about sunshine, you're falling into the traps that we do every time. It's time to move on, that rubbish only ends one way.

And I'm not talking about playing defensively, I'm talking about having a shield in front of our back 4 so those attacking players (including our full backs) you mention can attack at will and with freedom, not having to stress overly about tracking back. So I put it to you that it is you that is stifling our attacking players.

My friend you are tactically clueless like most Neanderthal England fans. Get yourself out of the dark ages.

I'm annoyed with the squad selection though, Drinkwater and Townsend have been in good form, so why take sicknote Wilshire and out of form Barkley? Same could be said for Sturridge who's unfit, would rather have had Wellbeck.

    Welbeck's injured.

Of course it should be a minimum requirement for England. Hodgson now has a wealth of talent available to select from. Whether he chooses to select the right players, or has the ability to achieve in a major tournament is another matter altogether.
