    I think Ireland are doing very well I've heard doing much better than the UK... Need to check this but they were in a bad way for a while .

    The UKs dept is also much more than Greece ever was last time I looked it was £1-6 trillion

    Fair point but more to do with the shared currency rather than EU membership. In any case my point wasnt about whether it was beneficial or not, it's the principle of being an independent country in Europe.
