Similar record to Carvalhal before joining Wednesday. Karanka had no managerial experience, let alone in England, before joining Boro. Unlike the previous chap, his area of expertise is European footballers as opposed to League 1 players and he's a better fit for the new regime.

As a long-term solution i'm not convinced but it's gonna be an interesting ride.

Just like quite a few Wolves fans already, writing him off before a ball is kicked, take a look at the current Sheffield Wednesday's manager's record and also a few of the Watford manager's who have been at the club in recent years. The appointment is a risk, so are many others.

I wouldn't mind if you were a wind up merchant but you aren't. Far from it.

Wums don't go crying to mods trying to get people banned when they can't compete.

Go away and worry about your own club, not exactly smelling of roses, is it?

Exactly as I see it Gav. Also, if it doesn't look like it's going to work out I've no doubt they'll replace him very quickly. They don't appear to be the types that mess around.

    Same here.

A shock, admittedly but judgement should be reserved.

Not many successful goalkeepers as managers out there... only the Belgian Goetalls and Zoff spring to mind? I'll be more than happy to be proven wrong but my knee jerk is that he'll be gone by Christmas.

    IN ZENGA WE TRUST!!!

Jesus H Christ on a bicycle where the hell did they drag Walter Zenga from. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see this working out real well. Only time will tell I guess but I don't think the new management will run with a dud for long. The only reason they invested has to have been to get in the top flight ASAP and get some money back.

Italian Steffano Cusin named as Zenga's assistant. A continental look to set up, but Rob Edwards, Pat Mountain remain. Some much has happened of late, i just hope it pays off.
