Not defending the ref because he was poor & that's putting it mildly. If the club think it was a legitimate tackle they can always object to the 2nd yellow but I doubt they will.
Did he catch the player? I didn't see where he did but I am in WS
You can only appeal a straight red

Yes Snowball you are right I am wrong.
The FA were asked to look into the 2 yellow card rule last season. Quite prepared to bring out rules & regs to protect referees but none to appeal when a ref may have called it wrong.
At least it's only a 1 match ban. Kelly to come in at Blackburn.

If the ball was going the way the player was then it would have been passed to Lansbury, Fisher knocked the ball slightly sideways.

Watch the video on I -player or you tube

Just watched the brief highlights on YouTube. Looked like a clumsy challenge and I think the player's reaction shows he knew he was in trouble. However, leading up to it did Forest take a quick free kick from the wrong place? Can't tell from the footage but it seems like that's what Frecklington was protesting. Cost us a player and a goal.

I really have issue with the dangerous play/high foot rule when it seems OK in some instances e.g. their 2nd goal but not in others e.g. the first booking. Either you can kick a ball at shoulder height or you can't? Forwards get away with it because it leads to spectacular goals but at the weekend Costa almost took someone's head off when scoring for Chelsea.
